The town of Collarenebri is located in the north west of New South Wales. Like the small town of Carinda, Collarenebri is also situated in the Walgett Shire. The current population is 478 people. Collarenebri is located about 75 kilometers from the Barwon River, which is considered one of the best inland locations for fishing in Australia. Collarenebri is located approximately 90 miles west of Moree.
Although it is a small town, the town has its own hospital, police station, school and businesses. The main industry here includes cotton and wheat farming.
Collarenebri is much like other country towns in sharing a passion for horse racing action. The track is managed by the Collarenebri Jockey Club.
The Club usually holds one race event per year with 6 races throughout the day. Usually race days are held every 2nd or 3rd week of September.
The Collarenebri track is made of dirt and races are run in a clockwise direction. It is a country style race course but rest assured that spectators will see thoroughbred racing action at its finest. The Club also offers facilities and amenities that race goers, both club members and the public audience can enjoy.
Race days here are considered a big event by the locals and tourists flock to the town for them.
