The Corowa Racecourse is situated near the border between the New South Wales and Victoria. It is about 612 kilometres south of Sydney and approximately 300 kilometres north of Melbourne.
The Corowa Racecourse is under the management of the Corowa Race Club which was established in 1876. The Corowa Race Club is considered one of the leading race clubs in the Southern District Racing Association. The Club is presently located in Cotton Street Corowa. They do offer a quality thoroughbred racing event on an all weather track. Plus they do have great dining and bar facilities to cater for patrons and race goers.
The track is about 20m wide, has a circumference of 1900m and a long home straight of 400m. The home straight is lined with great facilities that are open to the public, patrons and club members.
Currently the Club hosts about 6 race meetings every year including the Corowa Cup and Melbourne Day Cup. The Corowa Race Club was actually the first club to host a meeting Melbourne Day Cup outside of Flemington and has been hosting this event for over 50 years.
One thing that makes this race track popular is its ambience. In addition the grandstand that is set among rolling grass hills and 100 year old gum trees completes the country and relaxed atmosphere. It is a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life.
