The Glen Innes Racecourse is operated by the Glen Innes Jockey Club. The Racecourse is in Northern NSW, 579 Kilometres North of Sydney in the New England region.
The Glen Innes Cup is a major event that the Glen Innes Jockey Club hosts every year here at the Racecourse. The race covers 1400 metres and is quite an attraction in the town of Glen Innes, bringing together visitors from within and around the region. There is much hype around the Cup, with many followers of the event taking it as a special occasion to witness top quality racing. Both punters and the general community come together to support the meeting every year.
The Racecourse is situated in an area of heightened tourist interest with a variety of breathtaking attractions, experiences and the presence of natural wonders in the range of World Heritage National Parks, mineral fields and some of the world's richest gems.
The course proper has an oval shape, a circumference of 1800 metres and 397m long final straight. The track has four chutes with inside barriers being an advantage at most starts due to the circular shape. The track tends to favour horses on the pace.
