The town of Jerilderie consists of 768 people and is situated in the south part of the Riverina region of New South Wales. It is about 618 kilometres from Sydney, about 45 kilometers from the border of Victoria and about 315 kilometres from Melbourne. It is in fact the only town that lies within the Jerilderie Shire Local Government Area.

The feature event of this 6 race program is the Jerilderie Gold Cup. The day includes fashions on the field which always has great prizes for the winner.
