Jerilderie

The town of Jerilderie consists of 768 people and is situated in the south part of the Riverina region of New South Wales. It is about 618 kilometres from Sydney, about 45 kilometers from the border of Victoria and about 315 kilometres from Melbourne. It is in fact the only town that lies within the Jerilderie Shire Local Government Area.

Another interesting fact about this small town is that it is a farming centre with various crops harvested each year. The town also participates in the Picola & District Football League. Of course, the town is also fond of horse racing.

The Jerilderie Racecourse hosts high quality thoroughbred racing events that are managed by the Jerilderie District Race Club. During the famous Jerilderie Gold Cup Races, the Club assures all race goers that they will enjoy a race day with a fantastic country atmosphere.

The feature event of this 6 race program is the Jerilderie Gold Cup. The day includes fashions on the field which always has great prizes for the winner.

Other than the fact that one gets to witness thoroughbred racing action, all race goers will enjoy the facilities that the Club has to offer. There is also a bar and catering facilities for both patrons and the public. There is typically free entertainment that is specifically made available for children, including jumping castles and arts and crafts.

First aid equipment, a kiosk, shaded and sheltered areas, a car park, and bar are just some of the other facilities that the Jerilderie District Race Club has to offer.
