Western Australia is the home of Narrogin Racecourse, which lies 195 kilometres south of Perth. Narrogin Racing operates the club that held its first meeting on September 28, 2008. The Narrogin Racecourse has both thoroughbred and harness racing on the same track, the first of its kind in Western Australia.
In February 2007, the Narrogin Harness Racing Club and the Narrogin Turf Club met with Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) and discussed for the first time the idea of a dual code racecourse. As a result of the initial meeting, the two clubs joined hands to form Narrogin Racing.
Today, a total of 20 race meetings take place every year at Narrogin Racecourse. The races comprise of 6 thoroughbred meets and 14 harness meets. The three feature race days at Narrogin include the Saturday Christmas meeting every December, the Duo Code meeting that takes place on Australia day and the Narrogin Turf Cup that takes place every April of the year.
The racing track at Narrogin has a grass surface. The track's circumference is 1, 511 metres.
